WATCH: Agam Berger Presents Graduation Ribbon to Her Sister
Released hostage Agam Berger, whose story touched an entire nation, presented her sister with a graduation ribbon at the IDF Human Resources Officers course ceremony. The emotional moment captured hearts across the country.

Agam Berger, the 20-year-old IDF lookout who spent over 16 months in Hamas captivity, was the last of five female lookouts from the Nahal Oz outpost to be freed. A talented violinist who has played since age eight, Berger was captured just one day after beginning her assignment at the outpost on October 7, 2023. Throughout her captivity, she showed remarkable strength, with other freed hostages reporting that she maintained her religious observance even under the harshest conditions, refusing to cook on Shabbat despite her captors' demands.
To the melody of Shlomo Artzi's "Imagine a Beautiful World" and amid tears and applause from the crowd, recently freed hostage and IDF lookout Agam Berger presented a graduation ribbon at the IDF Human Resources Officers course ceremony. Agam was released just last Thursday after months in captivity.
During the moving ceremony, her mother Meirav raised her eyes to the heavens in gratitude.
On Friday, Meirav had issued a statement to the media: "On this emotional day, I want to say just one word - thank you. Thank you to the Creator, thank you to the people of Israel and to Jewish communities worldwide who, with inspiring unity and mutual love, stood by our side."
She continued, "They shared our emotions, fought with us, prayed with us, taught us about love, wrapped us in endless affection, and left no stone unturned in their devoted efforts to bring our Agam home."
"Thank you to our holy IDF soldiers who risked their lives in the mission of missions to find Agam and all the hostages, enabling their return to the land of Israel, our holy land."
Meirav also added, "Thank you to all the decision-makers who rose above themselves and courageously took on the responsibility of bringing our loved ones home – even at difficult prices that seemed impossible. And thank you especially to our family, friends, the amazing professionals who supported us, and the new family we gained during this period."
For Agam's family, including her twin sister Li-Yam and younger brothers Bar and Ilay, her return marks the end of an agonizing wait. During her captivity, the family received a touching message through another freed hostage, Agam Goldstein-Almog, who called Agam's father Shlomi on his November 26 birthday to relay a message from his daughter. Today's ceremony, where Agam presented her sister with the graduation ribbon, symbolizes not just a military achievement but the strength of family bonds that endured through the darkest of times.
