Iranian Foreign Minister also backs down: Nuclear issue can be discussed The Netanyahu-Trump meeting effect. The Iranian Foreign Minister backed down from threats against the US and Israel, stating that if Trump's concern is Iran's nuclear program, the matter can be resolved.

Trump's declarations are shaking the world: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, backing down from threats against the US following Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Trump's meeting, stated that "America's maximum pressure policy has proven its failure in the past. If America's problem is Iran's nuclear program, then this problem can be solved."

Recall that a few days ago, the Iranian Foreign Minister gave an interview to Qatar's Al Jazeera channel and threatened that it would lead to all-out war: "An attack on Iran's nuclear facilities would be one of the greatest historical mistakes, and Iran would respond immediately and decisively to any attack on its nuclear facilities – with the US and Israel knowing very well what targets we can strike in their territories."

Regarding Iran's nuclear program, he said: "We can produce a nuclear bomb, but there is a religious decree from the Supreme Leader (Khamenei) forbidding it."

Commenting on the ceasefire in Gaza, Araghchi said: "The Zionist entity was forced to negotiate to release the hostages – and this means Hamas has won."

Trump signed an executive order yesterday (Tuesday) reimposing "maximum pressure" sanctions on Iran in order to deter the country from developing a nuclear weapon. Trump said that the sanctions are very "tough" but that he has no choice due to Iran being to close to developing a nuclear arsenal.

Trump also noted that if Iran assassinated him in response to the reimposition of sanctions - as it reportedly sought to do during his campaign - then he left "instructions" for the country to be "obliterated" in retaliation.
