Israel-Hamas War: What "unleashing Hell" on Gaza means for the conflict
With the new Chief of Staff getting established as head of the army, Israel is preparing for a possible renewal of the war in the south. Here's what that would look like.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir met today (Sunday) to discuss the possibility of renewing the fighting in the Gaza Strip in the next few days if progress is not made in hostage negotiations with Hamas, according to a report by Kann News tonight.
According to the report, the IDF's planned offensive is set to be far more intensive than past operations in the Gaza Strip since October 7. This includes the callup of potentially hundreds of thousands of reservists and the continued cessation of all humanitarian aid and even electricity and water supply - something which the Biden administration refused to allow when the army first moved against Hamas.
In addition, Zamir reportedly vetoed or ordered the redrafting of offensive plans for the Strip to be more offensive minded and be based on values such as "victory" and "crushing Hamas."
Among the operations the IDF has planned are far more intensive strikes and maneuvers into the Strip, the retaking of positions abandoned as part of the hostage deal, and the renewed removal of all the north Gazans who only recently returned to Gaza City and its environs following the ceasefire and the hostage deal, including the exchanges of hostages for terrorists.
The cabinet is currently meeting in order to decide on further steps against Hamas, including cutting off the water supply to the Gaza Strip.
At present, Israel is avoiding launching military maneuvers due to the Trump administration's efforts to negotiate directly with Hamas for the remaining hostages, an effort which Israeli sources have anonymously opposed and often complained about. A number of such sources said that it will be difficult for Prime Minister Netanyahu to reject any deal reached between Trump and Hamas via his intermediaries, even as they claim they have made significant progress in negotiations.
