Syria breaks apart: Russia and Israeli airforces protect non-Mulsim minorities

Renowned Orientalist Mordechai Kedar elucidates the complicated situation in Syria now run by Al-Julani, whom he calls "a Yahya Sinwar on steroids".

An usual state of affairs has come to light in the last couple of days, in which at one and the same time, Israeli, Russian and Turkish jets control Syrian airspace, each protecting its own interests. This was explained by renowned Arab-world expert Mordechai Kedar on TOV News.

Al-Julani's Syria is basically a failed state, with various foreign powers doing their best to protect their own interests. Yesterday (Sunday), Turkish planes took off to confront Israeli planes which were acting in the south of the country to protect the Druze population, in danger of being slaughtered by Julani's thugs, who see them as kuffar (unbelievers and idol-worshippers).

According to Kedar, Russian jets were then sent to counter the Turkish jets, the Russians doing what they can in the northwest of the country to protect the persecuted Alawite community (to which ex-dictator of Syria Bashar Al Assad, now in Russia, belongs to), which has been slaughtered in recent weeks by the Jihadist al Julani.

Kedar is of the opinion that there is a secret agreement between Russia and Israel with regard to protecting the non-Muslims citizens of Syria.

The Kurds invaded north-eastern Syria about 10 year ago and founded their own state called "Rojova". The Turkish invaded Syria in order to ensure that the Kurds do not establish an independent state, as the Turkish have a huge Kurdish minority liable to join up with their Syrian brethren. The U.S. also sent in forces to protect the Kurds who are considered very pro-U.S.

Al-Julani, also know as Ahmed Al-Sharaa has been affiliated over the years with both al-Qaeda and ISIS; he sat in U.S. jails for 8 years and had a 10 million dollar reward on his head. Julani managed to conquer Syria with Turkeys blessing, and he is surrounded by Jihadis from all over the Arabic world as well as Uyghurs from China.

Kedar warns from falling into the trap Israel fell into with the PA and Hamas, believing it possible to come to some sort of a peace deal. Julani is a Sinwar on steroids, but he is trying to put on a good look, to be accepted by France, the U.S. and others. But it's all a ruse. Kedar stated that if Julani recognized the right of a Jewish state to exist, with Jerusalem as is its eternal capital and give up on the Golan Heights, he would be willing to reconsider his negative view of him.
