Freed Hostages Eitan Horn and Soldier Nimrod Cohen Released From Hospital
After more than 700 days in hell, two hostages Eitan Horn and Nimrod Cohen have finally been released from hospital and are on their way home.

Nimrod Cohen, a survivor of Hamas captivity, was released from Tel Aviv’s Ichilov Hospital after completing a series of medical evaluations.
Nimrod was stationed near Kibbutz Nirim (close to the Nahal Oz base) when his tank malfunctioned during the Hamas assault. The three other soldiers in his tank crew were killed, and he was taken captive from the burning vehicle. He spent 738 days in captivity, including two birthdays in Gaza.
A hospital statement confirmed that Ichilov Medical Center will continue to provide follow-up care and medical monitoring for Cohen and his family as needed.
Officials praised Cohen’s resilience, noting that he endured severe conditions during his time in captivity and will now begin the process of recovery at home.
Fellow hostage Eitan Horn also returned home following his own hospitalization.
Eitan was visiting his brother Yair Horn at Kibbutz Nir Oz when both were kidnapped on October 7th. Yair (45) was released during a temporary truce in November 2023 after 498 days, but Eitan remained captive for over 730 days total. For much of his captivity, Eitan was held in an underground tunnel cell with several others, including his brother initially, under harsh conditions with limited food
Jubilant crowds lined the streets, cheering and chanting "Eitan, Eitan" while waving Israeli flags.
