IDF forces yesterday (Sunday) identified three terrorists emerging from a tunnel shaft in the Khan Yunis area, west of the Yellow Line, the IDF Spokesperson announced this evening. Shortly after the identification, an air force aircraft struck the shaft and the operatives.

According to the statement, hits on the targets were confirmed. Following the strike, secondary explosions were identified, indicating the presence of combat equipment in the shaft.

IDF forces under Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat, the spokesperson clarified.

Several days ago, the IDF and Shin Bet eliminated Muhammad Halawa, a commander in the military intelligence apparatus of Hamas's military wing, in the Gaza City area. In another strike last week, Ahmed Zahir Fuad Abu-Odeh, an engineering commander in the organization's military wing, was eliminated.

The IDF and Shin Bet noted that throughout the war and particularly in recent times, the terrorists have advanced terror plans against IDF forces and Israeli civilians and worked to restore Hamas's capabilities, in systematic violation of the ceasefire.

Meanwhile, the IDF continues extensive operations to destroy underground infrastructure in the Strip. As previously reported, forces from the Northern Brigade under Division 99 and Southern Command engineering forces recently destroyed an underground route a kilometer and a half long in northern Gaza, east of the Yellow Line.

The destroyed route was underground infrastructure located in an area added following the expansion of the Yellow Line. The expansion stemmed from an operational need to protect forces and communities, and the route was one of the central considerations for expanding operational control in the area.
