Israel Elections 2026

Right-wing turnout surges before election

Dr. Nimrod Nir of the Agam Institute reports systematic rise in right-wing bloc participation: From 9% who decided not to vote, the figure has now dropped to just 2%-3%

Political Psychologist Reveals Dramatic Shift in Right-Wing Voter Turnout Ahead of Polls

Turnout figures among right-wing voters may prove decisive in the current election campaign, according to new polling data showing a sharp reversal in abstention rates.

Dr. Nimrod Nir, a political psychologist at the Agam Institute, presented a clear trend of awakening among right-bloc voters who had previously planned to stay away from the polls.

In an interview with Avi Greenzweig on the "We Are the Majority" program on Galei Yisrael radio, Dr. Nir explained the shift recorded in recent measurements. "We are seeing a systematic rise in voting intention among right-bloc voters," he noted.

Dr. Nir elaborated on the group he defined as "right-wing swing voters": "There were nine percent who would under no circumstances cross to the other side, but said 'I won't participate.' Today, in the latest measurement, that stands at just two to three percent."

The dramatic drop in planned abstention comes as polls open across Israel, with the shift potentially affecting the final seat distribution in the Knesset. The Agam Institute has tracked the trend across multiple surveys in recent weeks, showing consistent movement back toward participation among voters who identify with the right but had expressed frustration with the current government.
