Ended without casualties

Suspected bomb near Talmon was fake device

IDF sappers and Border Police called to Route 463 after object with Hamas flag found near Talmon in Binyamin; road closed during inspection • Device confirmed as fake, road reopened

The scene where the suspicious object was located

A security incident in Judea and Samaria ended Thursday evening without casualties after a suspicious object with a Hamas flag attached to it was found near the community of Talmon in the Binyamin Regional Council.

Police spokesperson reported that following professional and rapid handling by officers from the Modi'in Illit station, IDF forces and Border Police sappers from Judea and Samaria who were called to the location, the object was carefully examined and definitively determined to be a fake explosive device that had been placed in the area.

Following removal of the security threat, Route 463, which had been closed to traffic during the inspection, was reopened in both directions to normal travel.

The incident joins a series of similar cases in which fake explosive devices have been discovered in the Judea and Samaria area. Several months ago, police sappers were rushed to handle a suspicious object that appeared to be an explosive device placed on a vehicle in the heart of a residential neighborhood in the city of Nahariya, and after inspection it turned out there as well that it was a fake device.

Police call on the public to distance themselves from any suspicious object and to report it immediately to emergency number 100.
