The municipality of Migdal HaEmek has announced an unprecedented decision ahead of the upcoming election campaign: elections will be conducted digitally only, with no campaign posters permitted in public space. The decision, made under the direction of Mayor Yaki Ben Chaim, includes strict enforcement, a fine of ₪475 for every single poster placed in violation of the directive.
The move is intended to prevent the familiar phenomenon of hundreds of plastic and cardboard election posters that mar public space and cause environmental damage. The municipality seeks to preserve the city's appearance and set a personal example for the entire country in a clean and green election campaign.
