New footage of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar has emerged on social media, posted by Gazans, showing the architect of the October 7 massacre in his final days before IDF forces killed him. The video, not seen publicly until now, shows Sinwar hiding in destroyed buildings, wrapped in women's clothing and surrounded by a cell of terrorist bodyguards and senior field commanders.
Sinwar footage surfaces from final days
Nearly two years after his elimination, previously unseen video shows the Hamas leader moving between ruined buildings, disguised in women's clothing and surrounded by bodyguards

The footage shows the terror chief moving between ruined houses in neighborhoods hit by fighting, concealing himself from IDF forces among the rubble of Gaza's buildings.
Like earlier videos released from Sinwar's final days, he appears to have spent most of his time unarmed and disguised as a woman to avoid identification, in contrast to the other terrorists around him who also wore women's clothing but carried weapons.
The video also shows Sinwar and his inner circle continuing to direct combat operations from the field using maps, flashlights and basic cellular communication.
The footage likely comes from the final days of the man behind October 7, shortly before his elimination by IDF forces on October 16, 2024. Contrary to Gazan accounts of a heroic battle, Sinwar was not killed in a special operation but in a chance encounter between his cell and IDF troops from Battalion 450 of the Bislamach Brigade and Brigade 460, who were operating in the area as part of their command training.
Sinwar was ultimately eliminated without the forces even knowing who he was at the time, and only afterward was he identified as one of those killed in the incident.
