A man in his 50s was killed Tuesday after his vehicle caught fire while he was driving on Route 92 near the community of Ramot in the Golan Heights. MDA paramedics and EMTs who arrived at the scene found the man in critical condition, suffering from multi-system trauma. Despite advanced resuscitation efforts, they were forced to pronounce him dead at the scene.
Fire crews from the Galilee-Golan district worked to extinguish the blaze, which had spread from the vehicle to adjacent open terrain. Staff Sergeant Adir Gadasi, the incident commander, said firefighters were working to put out the flames in the vehicle and the surrounding area and to prevent the fire from reaching nearby agricultural land.
MDA paramedic Shachar Ben Anat and MDA emergency medical technician Gilad Cohen said: "When we arrived, we saw a man around 50 years old lying on the road, unconscious, with no pulse or breathing, suffering from severe multi-system trauma. We performed advanced resuscitation, but unfortunately his injury was critical and we had to pronounce him dead at the scene."
Route 92 was closed to traffic from the Ramot junction to the Yehudiya junction following the incident. Police officers arrived at the scene and opened an investigation into the circumstances. "The public is asked to avoid the area, use alternate routes, and stay updated on traffic arrangements," police said. "Drive carefully and follow the instructions of officers in the field."
