Fauda star and co-creator Lior Raz has called for change in Israel ahead of next week's election, arguing that reservists cannot keep carrying the country's burden alone.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday evening, Raz said the change he wants is not driven by anger or party politics. "Since October 7, one thing should be clear to all of us: the State of Israel needs change," he wrote. "Not change born of anger or hatred, and not out of a desire to defeat one side or the other. Change born of responsibility for our future and our children's future."
Raz focused on the toll on reservists and their families. "In recent years, we've watched the best people in this country leave their homes, their families and their jobs, and show up again and again to defend all of us," he wrote. "Reservists and their families are paying an enormous price. They deserve a country that stands behind them, not just in words but in deeds."
He then made his own position clear. "I will not vote for a government that does not stand with reservists while supporting those who choose to evade the duty we all share," he wrote. "This is not a question of right or left. It's a question of values, of a shared fate and of responsibility."
Raz did not say which party he will vote for.
He closed with a call to turn out on election day. "We can disagree on everything, but there is one thing we must agree on: those who carry the burden cannot keep carrying it alone," he wrote. "This election needs to bring change. After October 7, we can't just carry on as if nothing happened. We deserve better."
