Likud statement missing one word — reporter

Michael Shemesh responds to Likud's furious statement on alleged foreign election interference and bribery, saying a single word is conspicuously absent

Political reporter Michael Shemesh responded Thursday morning to a Likud party statement issued after Elections Committee chairman Justice Noam Sohlberg called on Shin Bet chief David Zini to open an investigation into suspected election bribery.

Shemesh began by quoting the Likud statement in full: "The Ra'am-gate affair is an earthquake. They stole the elections in Israel! Justice Solberg's words about the involvement of foreign elements who interfered and bribed voters for the benefit of the Arab parties are an unprecedented shock."

"This is an attack on democracy whose purpose is to lead to foreign takeover of the Knesset, the Islamization of Israel, and the overthrow of the right-wing government in order to lead to retreat and the defeat of the IDF on all fronts, first and foremost Iran."

"Now that it has become clear that foreign elements tried to take over the Knesset, it is clear that no Zionist party may cooperate with Ra'am and the Joint List, replace the Knesset speaker with votes bought in cash, and form a government that is dangerous to Israel."

"We demand immediate action using all means available to the Shin Bet and the police to investigate these crimes."

Shemesh responded to the statement: "In Likud's shocked statement this morning, one word is missing --- Qatar."

Online, users did not ignore the suspicions against Netanyahu's advisers in connection with Qatar, and attacked them sharply.
