Democrats chairman Yair Golan met Thursday with Ra'am chairman Mansour Abbas, the first time the two have sat down since the election to the 26th Knesset.
Golan meets Abbas on rescue government
Democrats leader Yair Golan held his first meeting with Ra'am chairman Mansour Abbas since the election, capping a day of talks with Lapid and Eisenkot on forming a left-bloc coalition
The Democrats said in a statement that Golan and Abbas "expressed a commitment to act quickly and decisively to establish a rescue and repair government for Israel, out of an understanding of the magnitude of the responsibility and the opportunity created following the elections."

The Abbas meeting closed out a day of talks Golan held with the heads of the left bloc. Earlier Thursday, Golan met opposition leader Yair Lapid in what was described as a "coordination meeting," and then held a separate session with Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Gadi Eisenkot in which "the two discussed the election results and their shared commitment to realize the will of the voter as quickly as possible," according to the Democrats.

At the same time, Eisenkot met separately with former prime minister Naftali Bennett at Bennett's home in Ra'anana. The Democrats said "the two discussed ways to establish a good government in Israel as quickly as possible."
