Moshe Feiglin, chairman of the Zehut party, addressed the controversy surrounding him Sunday morning after Channel 12 News broadcast a report featuring Knesset candidates who lost family members in the war, but left out Feiglin's name, despite the fact that his grandson fell in battle in Gaza.
Following a media storm over the omission, Channel 12 anchor Adi Zarifi issued an apology.
"In the segment I presented in the studio Friday about the new Knesset, the name of Moshe Feiglin was omitted from the list of MKs who lost a family member in the war. His grandson, Sergeant Yair Levin z"l, fell in battle in the southern Gaza Strip, only 19 years old. We regret the omission, an error that occurred in good faith, and we apologize to MK Feiglin and the family. May Yair's memory be blessed," Zarifi said.
In an interview on Channel 14, Feiglin responded: "It's clear to me that this was not in good faith, but it's also clear to me who Channel 12 is. The apology on social media is not accepted. They need to re-air the entire segment and apologize. What's certain is that I don't need them to give me legitimacy for the fact that the nation feels my pain."
