A Life of Service Tragically Cut Short
The community of Harish and the entire United Hatzalah organization are grieving the untimely death of Hami Erlanger, who was killed instantly in a severe collision today. Hami was a father of five and a central, highly respected figure known for his boundless dedication to saving lives in his community.
The tragedy occurred while Hami was riding the emergency motorcycle entrusted to him, making his way home from his military base. His life, which was characterized by selfless service to others, was tragically cut short on a journey to reunite with his family for the Hanukkah holiday.
Initial findings indicate the traffic accident was caused by a vehicle that swerved across multiple lanes and struck Hami head-on. The driver of the vehicle was arrested by police at the scene, and a full investigation into the fatal incident is now underway.

Today we lost a true hero, a volunteer who always gave far beyond what was asked of him and devoted his life, time, and energy to saving lives,” Beer stated. He emphasized the circumstances of the tragedy, adding, “Hami z"l was killed while riding his emergency motorcycle on his way from army service to celebrate Hanukkah with his family.”
Beer concluded by extending support and condolences to the deceased's loved ones and the wider volunteer community. “We embrace his dear family and send our deepest condolences to all 8,000 United Hatzalah volunteers. His memory and legacy will stay with us forever.”
