The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has confirmed an attack on a merchant vessel in the Gulf of Aden, approximately 70 nautical miles southwest of Aden, Yemen. According to the official report, the vessel was approached by three small skiffs, with one white skiff carrying five individuals hailing the ship before opening fire with small arms.

The incident involved an exchange of gunfire, but no casualties were reported among the crew. The vessel sustained no major damage and is proceeding to its next port of call while maintaining heightened alert status.
