Mamdani's Jew-Hating Sidekick

Horrific Anti-Semitism: Mamdani's Top Aide's Vile "Israel Cancer" Rants Revealed

A senior official on NYC Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s team is under intense scrutiny after an investigation revealed he praised an Iranian leader who called for Israel's elimination, used anti-Jewish slurs, and posted anti-LGBTQ remarks.

The election of Zohran Mamdani as New York City's mayor-elect has plunged the Jewish community into deeper unease, with fresh revelations of blatant antisemitism and homophobia from one of his closest aides underscoring the toxic undercurrents that propelled his campaign to victory. Hassaan Chaudhary, listed on LinkedIn as political director for Mamdani's transition and inaugural committee, and Muslim outreach director during the race, has come under blistering fire after a New York Post investigation unearthed a trove of social media posts spanning over a decade, where he wielded "Jew" as a vile slur, lionized genocidal Iranian leaders, branded Israel a "barbaric nation" soaked in "blood," and even sneered at LGBTQ+ rights. Of course, an antisemite like Mamdani would surround himself with such venomous enablers, it's no surprise, but it's a gut-wrenching betrayal for a city boasting the world's largest Jewish population outside Israel, where antisemitic incidents have surged 400% since the October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorist massacre.

Chaudhary's digital trail of hate dates back to his teenage years: In 2012, at age 18, he responded to journalist Najam Sethi with an Urdu phrase roughly translating to "Jew will be your father", a degrading antisemitic insult dripping with contempt. He gushed over former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Holocaust-denier who vowed Israel is "a cancer which will be eliminated soon," reposting praise for a Pakistani official with: "This banda is fearless." Chaudhary amplified the threat, echoing calls for Israel's annihilation while slamming the Jewish state as a "bloody country" and "barbaric nation" that murders innocent Palestinians. "TALK about it. #stupid media," he sneered in one post. As recently as December 2024, he reshared a vile claim targeting Jewish Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, implying the Democrat would "give a medal" to an IDF soldier for killing a Gazan toddler, a blood libel straight from terrorist propaganda mills. And in a 2012 gem of bigotry, he dismissed gay rights with: "We need to draw the line somewhere" regarding the LGBTQ+ community. This isn't youthful folly; it's a pattern of Jew-hatred and homophobia that festers unchecked in Mamdani's orbit, where anti-Israel fervor often bleeds into outright antisemitism.

Chaudhary issued a mealy-mouthed apology Sunday: "I apologize for my tweets; they do not reflect my positions or who I am today. I look back on my words with deep regret." Mamdani's team piled on with a canned condemnation: "These statements from over a decade ago are reprehensible and in no way reflect the views of the Mayor-elect." But words ring hollow when Mamdani himself has flirted with "globalize the intifada" chants, code for worldwide violence against Jews, and refused to unequivocally denounce Hamas as terrorists, all while vowing to combat antisemitism in victory speeches that feel like lip service to many. Jewish leaders aren't buying it: Over 1,100 rabbis signed an open letter warning Mamdani "poses a danger to the security of the New York Jewish community," and ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt slammed his "long, disturbing record." Even as Mamdani tempered rhetoric to snag endorsements from Jewish Democrats like Comptroller Brad Lander, his win, fueled by anti-Israel anger over the war, has exposed a generational chasm, with polls showing 55% of Jewish voters backing rivals like Andrew Cuomo amid fears of emboldened hate.

New York's Jews, numbering over 1.1 million, deserve better than a mayor whose circle harbors such poison. From swastikas on yeshivas to assaults on Orthodox tourists in Milan, antisemitism's rise demands leaders who confront it head-on, not coddle it under "progressive" guises. Mamdani enters office in January amid a city reeling from the war's echoes: 700 IDF fallen defending against rocket barrages, hostages like Eli Sharabi starved in tunnels for 491 days. His aide's bigotry isn't a footnote, it's a flashing red warning that City Hall could amplify the very forces terrorizing Jews, from campus mobs to street thugs. As Trump branded Mamdani a "proven and self-professed JEW HATER," and Israeli outlets like the Times of Israel decried his win as a blow to global Jewish safety, one thing's clear: Empty apologies won't shield synagogues or silence slurs. New York's Jewish backbone, builders of its economy, culture, and resilience, must demand accountability, lest Mamdani's "hope" devolve into the fear his rhetoric has sown.
