CNN Whitewash: Tehran Report Ignores Bloody Massacre While Parroting Regime Propaganda
CNN's Frederik Pleitgen'"report" from central Tehran on is just a puff piece for Iran's murderous regime! He struts around showcasing massive propaganda posters threatening the Trump administration, like that idiotic "If you sow the wind, you will reap the whirlwind" nonsense and chats up "locals" spouting scripted drivel about "national solidarity" amid U.S.-Iran tensions.

A recent CNN broadcast from Tehran has ignited widespread criticism for its portrayal of Iran's stance against the United States, while failing to address the ongoing anti-regime protests and a violent government crackdown.
Frederik Pleitgen's report, aired on January 27, featured footage from central Tehran showing large regime posters directed at the Trump administration, including one stating, "If you sow the wind, you will reap the whirlwind." The segment included interviews with local residents expressing unity and concern over potential escalation in U.S.-Iran relations.
However, the report has been condemned by Iranian activists, journalists, and observers for ignoring the protests that began in late December 2025. Demonstrations were sparked by severe economic challenges, including high inflation and shortages, compounded by a nationwide internet blackout aimed at stifling communication.
Critics, such as Iranian rapper Hichkas and journalist Emily Schrader, have described the broadcast as a "sham" and "puff piece," accusing it of presenting a one-sided view that aligns with regime narratives. They argue it overlooks human rights abuses, including the "bloody weekend" of January 8-9, when security forces reportedly used lethal force against protesters, killing as many as 30,000 (if not more).
Adding to concerns, activist Farshad Mahmoudian, accused of leading protests in Lordegan, has been transferred to Shahrekord prison and faces potential execution as early as today. International calls for intervention highlight the risks to dissidents.
CNN has not yet responded to requests for comment on the backlash.
