Footage from the funeral procession of former Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei shows thousands of enraged mourners tearing down a massive billboard bearing the image of US President Donald Trump, throwing stones and objects at his likeness before climbing the structure to destroy it entirely.
The scenes unfolded as the funeral procession, held for the Iranian regime's former supreme leader who was killed by Israel in the opening strike of the war, became a platform for public displays of hatred toward the West and toward Trump in particular, who is reportedly close to signing an agreement with the Iranian regime. According to the report, the crowd used the funeral setting to vent longstanding anger at what they call the Great Satan, the term used by the regime to describe the United States.
Video from the scene shows a massive crowd carrying flags, including official Iranian flags alongside black and red banners associated with Shiite religious symbols and regime-affiliated organizations, gathered beneath a bridge from which the billboard had been hung. Some of the participants climbed the bridge structure itself and began forcibly tearing down the sign, to loud cheers and rhythmic chants from the thousands standing below, who waved their hands and flags in what the report described as a gesture of victory.
The billboard, positioned strategically above the route the funeral procession was taking, displayed an image of Trump alongside text in Persian. According to the report, the incensed crowd threw stones and objects directly at the former president's image before a group climbed up and tore the structure down completely, in what was described as an organized display of hatred by regime supporters during the mourning period.
