Protests erupted in Mashhad's Sayyad Shirazi neighborhood near Imam Hossein Mosque, where crowds gathered to mark the 40th day since demonstrators were killed in earlier waves of anti-government unrest.

Authorities have reportedly deployed heavy security presence and shut down internet access to conceal the scale of the disturbances.

An X post shared a video purportedly showing regime forces (referred to as "thugs" and Basijis) marching through streets, opening fire on civilians, with one yelling "DON'T FILM!"

The footage, viewed via analysis, depicts aerial shots of armed personnel in black uniforms advancing along a residential street, surrounding vehicles, and assuming firing positions amid apparent chaos. Some frames show individuals on the ground, consistent with reports of shootings.

Another post corroborates clashes in the same area, with video showing large crowds gathering under clear skies.
