New York City finally got its long-overdue snow day! A quick-moving coastal storm blanketed the Big Apple overnight and into Sunday morning, delivering the city's first measurable snowfall of the season - and yes, it's the kind that turns Central Park into a winter postcard.

As of early morning, Central Park clocked in at 1.1 inches (official spot at Belvedere Castle), while airports like LaGuardia saw 1.7 inches and JFK hit 2.6 inches. Citywide, totals ranged from 2-3.5 inches, with spots in Staten Island, southern Brooklyn, and Queens pushing closer to 4 inches in some lucky (or slushy) pockets. Not exactly a blizzard, but enough to make sidewalks sparkle and give everyone an excuse to dust off those boots.

The snow peaked before dawn, tapering off by midday, just in time for blustery winds and plunging temps, highs in the low 30s dropping fast. Roads were slick earlier (hello, airport delays!), but plows and salt spreaders were out in force. Pro tip: If you're heading out, bundle up, it's feeling extra nippy out there.
