"Alcoholic Personality": White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles Reveals Inner Workings of Trump Administration

Susie Wiles, arguably the most powerful woman in Washington, offered a blunt assessment of President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance during conversations spanning the first year of the term. Wiles reportedly characterized Trump as having an "alcoholic personality" and described Vance as someone who has "held conspiracy theories for a decade."

Wiles detailed a White House where momentous decisions are often made with lightning speed and without traditional, orderly processes. She clarified that she does not view her role as a "restraint" or a "brake" on the President. Instead, she sees herself as the primary force channeling his impulses into policy. "I'm not an enabler, and I'm not a b*tch," she stated, adding that her job is simply to "make his vision come to life."

The Inner Circle: Musk, Rubio, and Netanyahu

The interviews also shed light on other key administration figures. Secretary of State Marco Rubio received high praise for his close bond with Trump and the trust he has cultivated. In contrast, Elon Musk, who led a massive effort to dismantle the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), was described by Wiles as a "total soloist" who moves rapidly without external checks.

Wiles also touched on sensitive foreign policy matters, including Trump’s unwavering support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during the war in Gaza. Following Trump’s speech to the Knesset, where he hailed Netanyahu as a "war hero," Wiles expressed concern about the domestic optics. "I’m not sure he fully understands that there’s an audience here that doesn’t like that," she remarked, referring to Americans critical of the war against Hamas terrorists.

Regarding domestic controversies, Wiles admitted she tried to persuade Trump to distinguish between non-violent protesters and violent rioters when granting pardons for January 6 defendants. However, she noted that in the event of a disagreement, "the President wins."

Wiles Strikes Back: "A Smear Attack"

Shortly after the article was published, Wiles took to social media to aggressively dispute the magazine’s portrayal. She labeled the piece a "bad faith, edited smear attack" against herself, the President, and the Cabinet. Wiles claimed that essential context was omitted and that her words were manipulated to create a narrative of chaos.

"The truth is that the Trump administration has already achieved more in 11 months than any other president has achieved in eight years," Wiles countered, attributing the success to Trump’s "unmatched leadership and vision." She emphasized that the report would not slow down the administration's mission to make America great again.
