At least 10 dead in shocking Swedish school shooting; horrific scenes on site
This marks one of the deadliest shootings in recent Swedish history. The city of Orebro, with a population of 126,000, has experienced gun violence before, but according to local photographer Pavel Koubak, "this seems to be sort of a bigger magnitude."

A shooting at an adult education center in Orebro, Sweden has left approximately 10 people dead, according to Swedish police. The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon at Campus Risbergska, located about 125 miles west of Sweden's capital Stockholm.
Police believe the shooter is among the deceased. Six people were taken to Orebro University Hospital, with four requiring surgery. One victim remains in critical condition.
"Right now we are identifying the dead," said Roberto Eid Forest, Orebro's chief of local police, during an afternoon press conference. While authorities do not suspect additional attacks, they have not ruled out the possibility of multiple perpetrators.
Police also say they currently see no terror motive but investigations are ongoing. The identity and motive of the shooter have not yet been released.
The attack happened at Campus Risbergska, which serves students over 20 years old and offers various programs including vocational training and Swedish language courses for immigrants. Students sheltered in nearby buildings as police evacuated the campus.
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson called it "a very painful day for all of Sweden" in a statement. "Being confined to a classroom with fear for one's own life is a nightmare that no one should have to experience," he added.
Local Liberal Party leader Johan Pehrson, who previously attended the school when it was a high school, described the incident as a "black day" for the country.
Authorities continue to maintain a heavy presence at the scene and have asked the public to stay away as their operation continues.
UPDATE:
Police are struggling to confirm the exact number of casualties in today's Orebro education center shooting, citing "extensive damage" at the crime scene. Local police chief Roberto Eid Forest says approximately 10 people have died in what he called an "exceptional" and "horrible" incident.
While authorities see no immediate terror connection, they haven't ruled out multiple attackers.
