Air Portugal A320 Makes Emergency Landing at London Gatwick

A TAP Air Portugal flight from London Gatwick to Porto has made an emergency landing after declaring a squawk 7700. Flight TP1329 returned to Gatwick shortly after takeoff and was met by emergency vehicles; no injuries have been reported.

The TAP Air Portugal Airbus A320 (registration CS-TNJ) operating flight TP1329 from London Gatwick (LGW) to Porto (OPO) has landed safely back at Gatwick Airport.

The aircraft declared a general emergency (squawk 7700) shortly after takeoff this morning. It turned back immediately, returned with priority handling from air traffic control, and touched down at approximately 09:49 UTC. The plane taxied to a stand under its own power and is now surrounded by emergency vehicles.

The exact reason for the emergency declaration has not been released. There are no reports of injuries or any need for passenger evacuation.
