The roughly five-minute film, titled "Propaganda Warfare: Israel, Hamas & the Weaponization of the Narrative," was posted September 23 by the account @DFF6769, which produces AI-generated videos and memes. As of Thursday morning, it had drawn close to 800,000 views, about 20,000 likes, and more than 6,500 reposts. The account also posted stills from the film tagging journalists, athletes, and politicians.

The film is animated in an exaggerated, satirical cartoon style. It opens with a Hamas-style commander stressing that the real battle is not purely military. Later scenes show terrorists operating from schools, with tunnels beneath classrooms and children present, and from hospitals used as cover. The film also depicts selective reporting from the conflict zone, warnings to civilians that go unheeded, and the effect of that coverage on Western audiences.

The film makes a case Israeli officials have pressed since October 7: that Hamas embeds its operations among civilians and depends on the resulting images to turn international opinion against Israel.

Reactions have split along familiar lines. Viewers who believe Western media downplayed the October 7 massacre and Hamas's use of civilians praised the film as a sharp summary of what they say much of the coverage missed. Critics dismissed it as partisan, or as arriving years after the information war was already decided.
