US President Donald Trump has accused former President Barack Obama of disclosing classified information following Obama's recent comments on extraterrestrial life. In a statement last night, Trump claimed Obama "revealed classified information" that he "shouldn't have," adding, "I don't know if they're real or not, I can only say he revealed classified information, he shouldn't do that. He made a big mistake."

Trump further noted he has no clear opinion on the matter: "I have no opinion about it, I've never talked about it. A lot of people believe in it."In a subsequent post on his social network Truth Social, Trump announced he has directed relevant government agencies to begin the process of locating and releasing documents related to extraterrestrial life, citing "tremendous public interest" in the topic.

The controversy erupted after Obama stated in a podcast interview earlier this week that aliens "are real, but I haven't seen them." He later clarified on social media that he meant the vastness of the universe makes the existence of life elsewhere likely: "The universe is so vast that there are good chances life exists out there."

However, Obama emphasized he has no information on alien visits to Earth, stating: "The chances that aliens have visited us are low. I haven't seen any evidence during my presidency that aliens have contacted us."
