Not a big surprise
House Speaker: “No Path for Trump's Third Term”
No one really thought Trump could get away with a third presidency. Still, seeing it in black and white is hard for his many supporters.

House Speaker Mike Johnson has dismissed speculation that President Donald Trump could run for a third term in the 2028 election, saying there is “no possible way” under the U.S. Constitution.
Addressing reporters Tuesday, Johnson said he had discussed the matter with Trump and emphasized that the 22nd Amendment, which limits presidents to two terms, is “very clear.” He added, “We had a great achievement, but I think President Trump himself is aware of the constitutional limits. We have already talked about this.”
The remarks come amid renewed public discussion in recent weeks about potential strategies for Trump to return to the White House, including claims from his former adviser Steve Bannon that a plan exists to extend Trump’s influence beyond a second term. Johnson rejected these scenarios, saying no path exists for Trump to legally pursue a third term.
Trump himself has also denied pursuing a third term, stating in a recent public address that “this simply wouldn’t be right” and that he has not considered such a move.
The comments are likely to end ongoing speculation over the president’s political ambitions for 2028.
