Turning Point USA's (TPUSA) AmericaFest 2025, held on December 18, 2025, at the Phoenix Convention Center, witnessed an unexpected and divisive moment when Tucker Carlson, a prominent (ex) conservative commentator, used his opening night speech to defend Islam and recruit support for Muslim communities.

His remarks were met with an "awkward silence" from the audience, highlighting deep fissures within the conservative movement.Carlson's speech included a call to view Islam and Muslims as "mostly good," arguing that anti-Islam sentiment is "evil." This stance aligns with his recent praise for Qatar as a superior U.S. ally compared to Israel, following his trip to the Doha Forum in early December 2025. There, he interviewed Qatar's Prime Minister and visited Palestinian refugees, experiences that seemingly shaped his perspective.

His December 11, 2025, episode, "Why Are We Defending Mass Murder in Gaza? Because Our Greatest Ally Demands It," further questioned Israel's alliance, drawing backlash for perceived antisemitic undertones. The audience's lack of applause contrasted sharply with Carlson's typical enthusiastic receptions, indicating discomfort or disagreement.

As to why TPUSA continues to host Tucker, nobody knows, except for the fact that Charlie Kirk still saw him as a friend and even met with him shortly before Charlie was assassinated.

But everyone else can clearly see that Tucker serves at the pleasure of Qatar these days.

This silence reflects ongoing tensions within conservatism, particularly around foreign policy and antisemitism, as figures like Ben Shapiro, who also spoke at the event, have criticized Carlson for aligning with controversial narratives.

Carlson's shift suggests a strategic realignment, possibly (probably) influenced by Qatari interactions, challenging conventional conservative views.
