Escalating Feud

Tucker Carlson Calls Netanyahu a Nazi

Tucker Carlson denies calling Netanyahu a "Nazi," claiming he accused the Israeli PM of labeling American critics as Nazis or part of a "Woke Reich," sparking controversy over U.S.-Israel relations and political influence.

A viral claim circulating on social media suggests that conservative commentator Tucker Carlson directly called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a "Nazi." However, a review of Carlson's recent statements and interviews reveals that this characterization appears to stem from a misinterpretation or exaggeration of his words. Instead, Carlson has accused Netanyahu of branding his American critics, including those opposing increased U.S. aid to Israel or involvement in potential conflicts with Iran, as Nazis or part of a "Woke Reich."

The controversy erupted in late September 2025, following Carlson's appearance on Glenn Greenwald's "System Update" podcast, where he lambasted Netanyahu for allegedly boasting about his influence over U.S. politics, including control over President Donald Trump. Carlson described this as "humiliating" for Americans, arguing that U.S. leaders are allowing a foreign nation to dictate policy decisions that harm American interests.

He further claimed Netanyahu has interfered in U.S. domestic affairs by pushing for censorship of dissenting voices and publicly attacking Americans who question Israel's policies.

In a widely shared clip, Carlson stated: "A foreign leader bragging about how he's censoring Americans. This guy runs a country of 9 million people that's totally dependent on our tax dollars to exist. And here he is on camera saying, anyone who opposes me in the United States, is a Nazi."

Carlson elaborated that Netanyahu equates opposition to more aid for Israel or U.S. involvement in a war with Iran as not just misguided, but akin to Nazi ideology, without providing substantive arguments. He has also described Netanyahu as "completely evil" and "destructive" to the U.S. and the world, but stopped short of directly applying the "Nazi" label to the prime minister himself.

Netanyahu fired back in an interview with conservative filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, released around September 24, 2025, accusing Carlson of defending America's "worst enemies" and lacking understanding of Jewish and broader history.

The prime minister claimed Carlson is siding with those who chant "Death to America" and seek to destroy Western civilization, dismissing his critics as not true supporters of the MAGA movement.

Netanyahu emphasized that U.S. decisions, including those under Trump, are made in America's best interest, rejecting Carlson's allegations of undue influence.

This feud comes amid broader tensions, including Carlson's recent criticisms of U.S. foreign policy toward Israel following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, which Carlson linked to Netanyahu's broader influence.

Carlson has urged Trump to distance himself from Netanyahu, warning that the relationship is damaging to the U.S.
