The maritime traffic control tower at Iran's Chabahar port completely collapsed early Friday after being struck by US forces for a third time, according to Iranian state media and an image shared by US War Secretary Pete Hegseth. The tower, located at the Shahid Kalantari Port section of the Chabahar Free Zone on Iran's southeastern coast, had already sustained damage in earlier American strikes on July 8 and July 9.
Hegseth shared an image showing the tower's collapse, which had earlier circulated on social media before he posted it, in what he described as part of an effort to assert American control over the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian state media, including IRNA, confirmed the third round of strikes on the facility. Iran's Press TV, a state-affiliated outlet, reported the strike killed eight people and injured 20 others, though JFeed has not independently verified that casualty figure.
