Trump Declares War on Antifa
Goodbye Antifa! Trump: "I am Designating Antifa as a Major Terrorist Group"
The president brands antifa a major terrorist organization after Charlie Kirk’s assassination, vowing to investigate those who fund it despite uncertain legal grounds

President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he is designating antifa as a “major terrorist organization.”
The declaration came in a fiery post on Truth Social, where the president called the movement “a sick, dangerous, radical left disaster.” He added that he would recommend thorough investigations into those allegedly funding the group.
The timing of the announcement is no accident. It follows a week after the shocking assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk in Utah. Trump has vowed to track down not only those directly involved in the murder but also organizations and donors he accuses of fueling political violence across the country.
Antifa, short for “anti fascist,” is less an organization than a loose affiliation of activists on the extreme left. Yet, having no clear leadership, hierarchy, or central membership it may be hard to crackdown on its actions. That being said, under US law, the government can designate foreign terrorist organizations and prosecute anyone offering them material support, especially the large far-left NGO network established in the U.S.
For many on both the moderate left, and right, the announcement is a long overdue measure against what they view as dangerous left extremism.
