IDF Ready for Multi-Front Scenarios

Following destruction of Hezbollah's underground infrastructure and completion of operational control in southern Lebanon, military says forces are prepared for simultaneous threats from multiple arenas

The IDF is preparing for a range of scenarios following its operations at the Ali Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon, including multi-front situations and the possibility of retaliation from Hezbollah or Iran. At this stage, it is unclear whether such a response will materialize.

The heightened alert comes amid Iranian threats to act against Israel in response to the Ali Taher Ridge operation. The military is preparing for various possibilities, including a response from Hezbollah in Lebanon or from Iran itself.

However, the IDF currently has no intelligence indicating that such retaliation is imminent. The preparations are being made as one possibility among the range of scenarios for which forces are readying themselves.

The readiness posture follows the IDF's completion of destroying Hezbollah's underground infrastructure in the Ali Taher Ridge area. After months of operations, forces achieved operational control over the ridge both above and below ground.

In a military briefing, officials stated that even after completing operations in the area, the IDF "is prepared for a range of scenarios, including multi-front scenarios."

Forces from the 36th Division, the Commando Brigade, and the Yahalom engineering unit operated against the underground infrastructure and Hezbollah terrorists in the area. The forces first achieved operational control above ground, then proceeded to the infrastructure beneath it.

At the ridge, forces located a network that included eight underground routes with a total length of more than 5,400 meters. Inside the infrastructure, dozens of Iranian-made rockets, missiles, and drones were found, alongside explosive drones, machine guns, anti-tank missiles, hundreds of mines, explosives, and additional combat equipment.

The IDF revealed that more than 1,100 tons of explosives were used to destroy the infrastructure at the ridge. The area also contained a central command compound of Hezbollah's Badr Unit, including command centers, weapons storage rooms, and living quarters.

Following completion of the operation, IDF forces are deploying anew in the security zone in southern Lebanon. The military emphasizes that forces will continue to operate to remove threats and prevent Hezbollah from reestablishing itself in the area.
