Ra'am Member of Knesset Yasser Hujirat declined to call Hamas a terrorist organization when the question was put to him directly.

Amit Segal reported that Hujirat was asked whether Hamas is a terrorist organization. He replied:

"It's an organization that, in part, engages in charity work, and in part seeks the right to exist and recognition as a state."

The Ra'am lawmaker did not use the word terrorist to describe Hamas.

Ra'am is an Islamist party. On August 31, Ynet reported that former Deputy Public Security Minister Yoav Segalovitz would join its Knesset slate, making him the first Jewish candidate to run with the party.
