Knesset member Tali Gottlieb (Likud) visited today (Sunday) the settler who was seriously injured in an incident in Binyamin in the hospital. Gottlieb criticized the arrest of the settler and the IDF spokesperson's statement: "Bizarre phenomenon – his skull is fractured, he underwent brain surgery, he is in critical condition, and he is detained. The IDF spokesperson's statement embedded false information for hours. He is a victim of hostile acts, no less."

As mentioned, yesterday during the Sabbath, there were clashes between several settlers and Palestinians near the village of Burqa. As a result of the confrontation, one of the settlers was seriously injured when he was hit on the head and underwent head surgery at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem. Gottlieb, who visited him at the hospital, strongly criticized both his arrest and the IDF spokesperson who issued what she called a false statement, and called for the arrest of the perpetrators. "I came to Shaare Zedek Medical Center to see with my own eyes and witness this bizarre phenomenon - that a settler from Judea and Samaria, whose only 'sin' was grazing his flock in pasturelands and not, as the false IDF statement claimed, entering a village - is now with a crushed skull, in critical condition, after undergoing brain surgery yesterday and is currently under arrest!" Gottlieb expressed her shock and dismay.

Gottlieb: "This is a victim of terrorist acts"

Continuing her statement, Gottlieb said, "There is a judge in Israel who ruled that this man, whose only action was getting caught up in the violent, aggressive, and terrorist conduct of Palestinians. Again, I emphasize, you need to see this with your own eyes."

Likewise, the Knesset member from the Likud party referred to the comparison made between the attack in Tel Aviv and the incident in Binyamin: "I say it again, the attempt to link a terrorist from Jenin who attacked inside Tel Aviv with settlers grazing their sheep in disputed territories is unacceptable. I witnessed with my own eyes a severely injured and weak person, suffering from a serious head injury, receiving intensive care at the hospital. It's a badge of shame for all of us. The misleading statement from the IDF spokesperson that was disseminated for hours contains false information. This is a victim of terror, no less, who in any other city would have been recognized as such, and Palestinians would have found themselves behind bars."
