The 646th Brigade's Combat Team and IDF's Yahalom Unit Destroyed Hamas' Terror Infrastructure in 'the towers neighborhood'. Uncovering weapons manufacturing facilities, a chemical processing lab, explosives, and anti-tank firing positions.
Israel at War: This week, the operation led by the 646th Brigade's Combat Team, in collaboration with Yahalom Unit fighters, was successfully completed in 'the towers neighborhood' in the center of the Gaza Strip. The neighborhood, characterized by tall structures dominating the area, serves as a key terror hub for Hamas.
According to the IDF, structures within the neighborhood served as firing positions for anti-tank and anti-aircraft weaponry against the soldiers. Rocket launchers, armed and ready for firing, hidden buildings, explosives, and multiple tunnel shafts were identified in the area. The Combat Team engaged in battles with the enemy within the complex, eliminated terrorists, and located and destroyed numerous tunnel shafts.
During the operation, the fighters discovered numerous combat assets, sniper rifles, RPG launchers, Kalashnikovs, machine guns, and more. In the vicinity of the compound, a warehouse and chemical processing lab for manufacturing weapons were identified. Through engineering operations and aerial attacks, the division's engineering forces and air force eliminated fortified structures, observation posts, and underground tunnel shafts.
