“Islamization of NY”: Candidate’s Arabic Campaign Video Goes Viral
Kayla Santosuosso’s is now Campaigning in Arabic to Win Over Arab-Islamic Voters in District 47 of NYC

Kayla Santosuosso, a candidate for NYC City Council District 47, has released a campaign video in Arabic, targeting the Arab-Islamic community. The video, shared by Eyal Yakoby on X, features Santosuosso introducing herself and her platform in both Arabic and English subtitles.
In the video, she states: "Assalamu alaikum, my name is Kayla and I am a candidate for the New York City Council in Bay Ridge, Coney Island, Seagate, and parts of Bath Beach and Dyker Heights. I served the Arab and Muslim community for more than 10 years. I want to be your next city councilmember because I will defend you against public streets and for safe streets, clean parks, and strong schools. Please vote on Election Day in the Democratic Primary on June 24 or vote early from next Saturday until June 22. The last day to register is this upcoming Saturday. Thank you very much and goodbye."
This approach highlights the growing influence of the Arab-Islamic community in NYC politics, as noted in recent discussions about Muslim donor networks and their impact on local elections. The video’s bilingual strategy aims to engage a diverse electorate, reflecting broader demographic changes in the city as the Muslim community is on its way to becoming the second largest religious minority in the city, supposed to pass the total number of Jews in the city by 2028.
