Trump Predicts Netanyahu Victory in Israeli Election Call

US President Donald Trump told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a phone call that he expects him to win a tremendous victory in Israel's upcoming elections. Netanyahu placed the call to thank Trump personally for the public endorsement the president issued on Sunday, Arutz Sheva reported.

During the conversation, Trump reiterated his support for the prime minister and called him a warrior who had been treated unfairly. He also said he had written the endorsement statement himself rather than leaving it to an aide.

Netanyahu thanked the president for the endorsement and raised the prospect of expanding the Abraham Accords. He also praised Trump's stance against a nuclear-armed Iran.

In Sunday's endorsement, Trump urged Israelis to give Netanyahu another term and warned them against choosing anyone else. "If Israel has the wrong Leader, which would be anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this work ourselves, and I am not inclined to do so," Trump wrote.

JNS reported that the statement also warned that unless Tehran rapidly changes course, "we will soon finish the job."

Trump ended the letter with this line: "Please let this Letter serve to represent my Complete and Total Endorsement of Bibi Netanyahu in his upcoming Race for Re-Election as Prime Minister of Israel. BIBI NETANYAHU WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!"

The Jerusalem Post reported that Trump told N12 News on Sunday that he had always intended to back Netanyahu. "I didn't want to do it too soon," Trump said. Asked whether he could work with a different Israeli prime minister, he replied: "Maybe I can work with someone else, and maybe I won't. Why take a chance?!"
