Russia Stands with Iran after Netanyahu's attack

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov landed in Tehran this morning in an unannounced visit, hours after Prime Minister Netanyahu criticized Russia's ties with Iran in a press briefing. At a joint press conference opening the state visit, Lavrov declared that Russia has no intention of abandoning its "strategic relationship" with Iran and launched a direct attack on Israel and the United States.

Lavrov stated that "just as Ukraine acts against Russia," Israel and the US are working to damage "civilian infrastructure" in Iran.

He emphasized that "Russia has no intention whatsoever of retreating from the strategic ties and mutual agreements with Iran, regardless of any external pressure." He added that just as the United States assists Ukraine in its fight, Russia is prepared to assist Iran.
