Drew Pavlou: "How The Bondi Terrorists Beat Australian Jews"
Following the deadly Bondi Beach Hanukkah shooting, Drew Pavlou highlights Australia’s long Jewish history and warns that the community’s public safety and freedoms are under threat.

Drew Pavlou took to social media to reflect on the recent horrors at Bondi Beach, where a public celebration turned into a scene of unimaginable tragedy.
He explained that the sad reality is that the terrorists have won. They have succeeded in instilling such fear that the Jewish community, which has been an integral part of Australia since the First Fleet, and can now no longer safely hold outdoor public events.
He pointed out that not only is this a blow to the Jewish community but it's also a stain on the Australian national fabric.
Drew added,
For nearly 250 years, Australian Jews have contributed immensely to our country, from the battlefields of World War I, where General John Monash, a Jewish Australian, led with distinction, to the cultural and civic life of our cities.
Yet, here we stand in 2025, where the actions of a few have dictated the freedoms of many. The perpetrator, a man who arrived in Australia in 1998 on a student visa, has been charged with murder and terrorism, accused of displaying symbols of a terrorist organization and placing explosives with intent to harm.
How is it that someone with such a brief history in our country can wield such influence over the lives of those who have been here for generations? This is not just about security; it's about the soul of our nation. We have allowed a foreign fifth column to attempt to purge a community that has been part of Australia since its founding. This is a historical disgrace.
Drew added, "As an Australian and a Greek Orthodox Christian, I am ashamed that we have let Islamic terrorists hold a veto over whether Australian Jews can hold public events. This is disgusting, and it must not stand. The Jewish community has faced persecution throughout history, but here, in a country built on the principles of fairness and equality, we are witnessing a betrayal of those very ideals. The cancellation of events, the fear that now permeates public gatherings, and the silence that follows are all testaments to the terrorists' victory. We must ask ourselves, how dare they? How dare we let them?"
It is time for a reckoning. We must ensure that those who threaten our way of life are held accountable, and we must reaffirm our commitment to the safety and freedom of all Australians, regardless of their background. The Jewish community deserves to celebrate their traditions without fear, and we, as a nation, must ensure they can do so. Anything less is a failure of our duty to protect the very essence of what makes Australia great.
