Hollywood’s Darling, Hatred’s New Face

Angelina Jolie, Wake Up: You Can’t Abduct Children from Around the World and Then Preach Morality from Hollywood

She may be projecting the privilege she was born into onto Israel, seeing the Palestinians as the poor children she steals —sorry, adopts. But the truth is, the world can see the emptiness of her hypocrisy from miles away.

Angelina Jolie — actress, director, UN goodwill ambassador, and the global face of tearful humanitarianism — has once again taken aim at Israel during the current war in Gaza. But before the world rushes to applaud her moral outrage, a few difficult questions deserve to be asked.

Jolie famously adopted children from Cambodia, Vietnam, and Ethiopia — countries still grappling with poverty, inequality, and the lingering effects of Western colonialism. However well-intentioned, these adoptions were made possible by deep global power imbalances. Jolie did not change the system; she benefited from it.

Now, the same Jolie travels to refugee camps accompanied by cameras, aides, and stylists — not to challenge the root causes of suffering, but to direct the blame at Israel. As she performs compassion for the press, she frames a complex and brutal conflict as a simple moral parable, casting one side as evil and the other as pure victims. But what does she really know?

Has she read about the 1,300 Israelis murdered on October 7? About the 240 hostages dragged into Gaza, the raped women, the babies burned alive? Or has she formed her worldview through curated social media clips and celebrity solidarity posts?

Or maybe it’s just a troubled woman’s attempt to rebel against her pro-Israel father.

Jolie was born into privilege, raised in Hollywood, and lives far from the region she now publicly judges. She didn’t grow up under rocket fire. She didn’t bury children after a terror attack. She never had to send her own children into a bomb shelter in the middle of the night.

To her, the conflict is simple — a powerful state versus a powerless people. But this isn’t a Netflix special. This is the real world, where Jews — after two thousand years of exile, massacres, and pogroms — built a small, threatened homeland, surrounded by regimes that have openly called for their destruction. Defending that homeland is not an act of oppression. It is an act of survival.

The world doesn’t need another celebrity sermon. It needs perspective, truth, and a willingness to confront uncomfortable historical realities.

The truth is, this lady will never say a word about the violence within Islam — about the Palestinians who have consistently chosen violence, and who, in over 100 years of existence as an invented people, have never truly sought to recognize Israel.

Jolie is welcome to visit Israel. She should speak to survivors. She should meet the families of the murdered and kidnapped. She should walk the streets of southern Israeli towns that have been torn apart by terror. Then, perhaps, she’ll understand that the situationץ

But since we all know that most people in Hollywood are either psychopaths, liars, or both — it's hard to believe she'll ever come to realize that real morality is not measured in front of a camera. It is measured by what you choose to do when no one is watching.
