A routine noise complaint at a Tennessee hotel took a wild turn this week when a suspected "difficult guest" turned out to be an apex predator.
The hotel owner, alarmed by strange scratching and thumping sounds echoing from behind a locked bathroom door, initially feared an intruder had barricaded themselves inside or that a guest was in medical distress. He immediately contacted emergency services to intervene.
Police officers arrived at the scene and prepared for a standard forced entry. However, when the door was finally breached, they found themselves face-to-face with a large black bear. The animal had somehow wandered into the building and managed to lock itself inside the bathroom, effectively turning the small space into its private den.
