Two men from West London have been charged with religiously aggravated harassment after they allegedly targeted Jewish residents in Stamford Hill by dangling money from a fishing rod in a mocking reference to antisemitic stereotypes.

Adam Bedoui, 20, and Abdelkader Amir Bousloub, 21, were arrested on the evening of May 7, 2026, in the heavily Orthodox Jewish neighbourhood of Stamford Hill in North London.

According to police and witnesses, the pair walked through the area holding a fishing rod with banknotes attached as “bait,” waving it in front of Jewish passers-by while filming the encounters on their phones. The videos were reportedly posted on TikTok.

The Jewish volunteer security group Shomrim quickly responded, followed the suspects, and alerted the Metropolitan Police. Both men were arrested the same night.

Metropolitan Police described the incident as deliberate antisemitic harassment.

On May 9, Bedoui and Bousloub pleaded guilty at Thames Magistrates’ Court to religiously aggravated public order offences (harassment). They are due to be sentenced on June 5, 2026.

Stamford Hill is home to one of Europe’s largest Hasidic Jewish communities and has been the site of a significant number of antisemitic incidents in recent years, particularly since the October 7, 2023 Hamas attacks on Israel.
