Antisemitic Vandalism Targets Jewish Fraternity at UC Santa Barbara
Jewish students terrorized again: vandals break into UCSB AEPi fraternity, smear swastika on bathroom mirror while university stays silent. "Enough is enough," says ADL as campus antisemitism surges with zero accountability.

Jewish residents of the Alpha Epsilon Pi (AEPi) fraternity house at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) discovered a swastika drawn in shaving cream on a bathroom mirror following a break-in by two unidentified individuals.
The discovery was first publicized by the U.S.-based organization StopAntisemitism via an X post, which included a photo showing the swastika smeared across the mirror's surface. The image depicts a standard bathroom setting with a towel rack and door visible in the reflection, emphasizing the intrusive nature of the vandalism in a private space.
ADL Santa Barbara/Tri-Counties Regional Director Joshua Burt addressed the repeated targeting of AEPi's UCSB chapter, stating, "Enough is enough," in an Instagram post highlighting the ongoing issue.
Israeli-British activist Hen Mazzig shared the report on X, noting that the swastika was intended to intimidate Jewish students and criticizing universities for downplaying such acts. "If this happened to any other group, there would be outrage," Mazzig wrote, calling out the "double standard toward Jews."
This event occurs amid broader concerns over rising antisemitism on U.S. college campuses, as documented in reports like the ADL's 2023 audit, which noted increased vandalism including swastikas.
As of the latest updates, UCSB officials have not issued a public statement, and no arrests have been reported in connection with the break-in.
