Actor Mark Ruffalo has publicly responded to accusations of antisemitism leveled against him by Paramount Pictures, firmly rejecting the studio's claims that he employed "antisemitic stereotypes" in recent criticism.
The dispute began when Ruffalo shared an older video featuring Safra Catz, a member of Paramount's board of directors. In the footage, Catz discussed Oracle technology that was used to assist the Israel Defense Forces following the October 7 attacks. Ruffalo criticized Oracle founder Larry Ellison, who is among Paramount's owners, calling him a "classic oligarch." The actor also used the terms "genocide" and "apartheid" when referring to the war in Gaza.
Paramount responded with a strongly worded statement accusing Ruffalo of deploying "antisemitic stereotypes" in the controversy surrounding the company. The actor has now broken his silence on the matter through a post on his Instagram account.
