Fuel prices drop — but only for five days

The Energy Ministry announces a sharp drop in fuel prices starting Sunday, but warns the cut will reverse on November 5 unless the government extends the temporary tax relief

Fuel Prices Plunge, But Only for Five Days

Good news for drivers in Israel, at least for the next few days: the Fuel and Gas Administration at the Energy Ministry announced Thursday that fuel prices at the pump will be updated at midnight between Saturday and Sunday (October 31–November 1), reflecting a significant drop.

The maximum price for a liter of 95-octane unleaded gasoline at a self-service station will stand at 7.35 shekels per liter, including VAT, a sharp drop of 42 agorot from the previous update. The surcharge for full service will remain unchanged at 26 agorot per liter, including VAT.

Energy Ministry warning: price to spike on November 5?

The Energy Ministry clarified that the lower price may be temporary, depending on the government's decision on taxation.

If the order is not extended, starting November 5 the maximum price will stand at 8.35 shekels per liter, a massive jump of a full shekel per liter.

The Energy Ministry recommends that drivers compare prices between stations and choose the most cost-effective option.
