The automatic price-update mechanism, which took effect in 2023, is based on a fixed and transparent formula and does not require the signatures of the Finance and Agriculture ministers. Under the mechanism, the rate of price change is examined quarterly, and prices may be adjusted upward or downward.
An update occurs when the cumulative change since the previous update exceeds 3% and at least six months have passed since the last adjustment, or when a year has passed and the cumulative change exceeds 1%.
