Horrific Video Evidence: Police Uncover Father Choking His One and Two-Year-Olds to Unconsciousness
An alert citizen's report led police to uncover a pattern of violence against two infants, aged one and two, allegedly committed by their father, who claimed in interrogation that a 'voice told him to hurt them.'
Horrific Pattern of Abuse Uncovered
Police in Israel’s Central District announced this week the successful investigation and resolution of an extremely disturbing case of violence involving a father, a resident of the Sharon region around 40 years old, who is suspected of repeatedly choking his two infant children, aged approximately one and two, until they lost consciousness. A severe indictment is expected to be filed against the suspect by the prosecution in the coming days based on the investigation's findings.
The complex and highly sensitive investigation began several weeks ago after an alert citizen reported witnessing disturbing footage. The citizen observed the father in the building lobby cameras during the early morning, violently restraining a baby and obstructing the infant's airways until the child fainted and lost consciousness.
Following the initial report, detectives from the Sdot station gathered various forms of documentation and evidence over several weeks. These findings exposed a series of violent incidents perpetrated against both of the suspect's young children, not only in the building lobby but also in a public playground area, all employing the same chilling method of choking.
Mental State and Legal Proceedings
During the police interrogation, the suspect made a deeply concerning claim, stating that "A voice told me, 'Kill her, hurt her.'"
Despite this claim, a court has ruled that the suspect is mentally fit to stand trial, based on the severe evidence gathered by investigators who successfully petitioned to extend his detention.
In accordance with legal requirements aimed at protecting the identity of the minor victims, the Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court has imposed a publication ban on the suspect's identity.
This week, the Police submitted a prosecutor's declaration against the father, signaling the prosecution's intent to file a full indictment shortly. This will be accompanied by a request to extend the suspect's custody until the completion of all legal proceedings. The swift and comprehensive investigation highlights the critical role of public vigilance in intervening in cases of severe child abuse.
