Body Found in Deep Well

A major investigation is underway near the Beit Guvrin area, where the body of missing Jerusalem resident Moshe Tzabari, 29, was tragically discovered today, Tuesday, in a deep well. Tzabari's body was found in an open area near the community of Kfar Zohra in the Mateh Yehuda Regional Council, more than 10 meters below the surface.

Police officers from the Kiryat Gat station and forensic investigators immediately arrived at the scene to collect evidence and determine the circumstances of the event, which is being investigated as a suspected murder.

The discovery was made during searches in the area, following the earlier finding of a car Tzabari had rented, located burned in the Hamalachim Forest, just a few kilometers from the well.

Rescue and forensic operations at the site were protracted and complicated. Forensic teams descended into the well to ensure that crucial evidence was not compromised, given the suspicion of foul play. The body is expected to be transferred to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute for a full autopsy.

A source from the emergency services stated that the evidence strongly points to murder, asking, "If it was a case of suicide, why wasn't his body inside the car? There are bloodstains at the entrance to the well, and the body itself was found bleeding."

As rescue operations were underway, the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court granted a request from Central Unit investigators to issue a gag order on the case, confirming the investigation is being handled as a suspected murder.

Family Reacts, Police Investigate

The victim's brother, Israel, confirmed the devastating news online, writing, "Thank you all for the shares and help. Unfortunately, Moshe, our brother, was murdered." Speaking to the media, he said, "We have no idea what happened. The police say the directions of the investigation range between criminal and nationalistic. It looks like he was abducted from near the house."

Yanaki Weinberg, Deputy Commander of ZAKA Kiryat Gat, described the challenging recovery operation. "We arrived at the scene along with all the emergency teams," he said. "The depth of the well and the narrow access make the work very challenging, so the operation is being carried out gradually and in full coordination with the police and fire and rescue services." Fire and Rescue services from the Southern and Jerusalem districts, assisted by the Lahava Unit, executed the complex retrieval using specialized equipment.
