Police have arrested a woman in her 50s on suspicion of abusing toddlers at a private daycare where she worked, in the Ariel area of Samaria.

Officers from the Ariel station, part of the Shomron district in the Judea and Samaria police region, made the arrest overnight Wednesday, after receiving a report on Wednesday evening that raised concerns about harm to toddlers at the facility.

Police said they opened an investigation immediately and gathered significant initial evidence supporting the suspicions against the employee. She was then arrested and taken to the station for questioning.

Following her interrogation, police decided to keep her in custody. She is set to be brought before a judge later on Thursday, when police will ask the court to extend her detention.

The investigation is ongoing.
